What is Turn Up™ Dance Fitness?

Turn Up™ Dance Fitness is more than just a workout—it’s a movement designed to help you evolve unapologetically, live loudly, and dance ruthlessly. These sessions combine high-intensity interval training (HIIT), strength training, and dance to create intense, fun, and transformative workouts.

 

Do I need to have dance experience to join?

Not at all! Our classes are designed for everyone, regardless of dance background. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, you’ll find the sessions accessible and enjoyable.

 

What type of music is played during classes?

We groove to a mix of Hip Hop and dance music, featuring artists like Nicki Minaj, Doja Cat, Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Kendrick Lemar,  Rihanna, Megan Thee Stallion, and old skool music . If it has a good beat, it’s on our playlist!

 

What if I can’t perform certain moves? Are modifications available?

Absolutely. We encourage participants to modify movements as needed. Before each song, we demonstrate variations to accommodate different fitness levels. For example:

  • Burpees can be replaced with squats

  • Jumping jacks can be modified to step-outs (V stepping)

  • Lunges can be adjusted to knee lifts or no lunge jumps

 

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for easy movement. Recommended attire includes:

  • Athletic shoes with good support and cushioning

  • Sports bras that offer comfort and breathability

  • Leggings, yoga pants, or shorts made from stretchy materials like spandex or elastane

 

Is Turn Up™ similar to Zumba?

While both are dance-based fitness programmes, Turn Up™ offers a distinct experience. It’s a HIIT dance class akin to being at a club with friends, dancing and singing along to the tracks. The vibe is energetic and fun, providing a unique and exhilarating workout atmosphere. Be prepared to laugh… and burn up to 500 calories!
